The Masterpiece: Parque de El Capricho

Located in Alameda de Osuna, this is arguably the most beautiful park in Madrid. Created by a Duchess in the 18th century, it mixes French, English, and Italian styles.

Highlights:

The Civil War Bunker (Posición Jaca). Underground HQ of the Republican Army.

The Labyrinth and the Grecian temple.

Important: Only open on weekends and holidays.

Hidden in Plain Sight

Prince of Anglona Garden

Right in the middle of the bustling La Latina district, hidden behind a high brick wall. It is a small 18th-century aristocratic garden with a fountain. Perfect for a quiet rest after tapas.

Huerto de las Monjas (Nuns' Orchard)

Access is through a modern building passage on Calle Sacramento. It used to be a convent garden. Now it is a public park completely invisible from the street.

Seasonal Guide: When to Visit

February/March: Quinta de los Molinos

Famous for its Almond Blossoms. The park turns white and pink. It is Madrid's version of Cherry Blossom season.

May/June: Rosaleda del Parque del Oeste

Over 20,000 rose bushes in full bloom. Visit in May for the international rose contest.

Autumn: Dalieda de San Francisco

Located next to the Basilica. The Dahlias bloom late, making it perfect for late summer/autumn visits. Also offers the best sunset views in the area.
